Your Right to Union Representation
Refer to rule: 2.2 An employee charged with a rule or policy violation is eligible for a waiver of an investigative hearing and must be allowed the opportunity to discuss whether to waive or proceed with an investigative hearing with his/her designated Union Representative.

IBEW stands for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Our local union is committed to ensuring the highest standards of safety and professionalism in all our operations. We manage high and low voltage components both AC and DC, specializing in electrical and telecommunications fields.
Unfortunately, due to recent developments, Union Pacific has temporarily halted the apprenticeship program and laid off the individuals previously enrolled. We are actively working to address these changes and support those affected.

Advocate for Safer Railways
Efforts to enhance rail safety are ongoing. In July 2024, Representatives Troy E. Nehls and Seth Moulton introduced the Railroad Safety Enhancement Act of 2024, building on the Railway Safety Act of 2023. These bills aim to modernize the rail network, strengthen safety measures, and protect workers and the public.
Supported by labor organizations like the IBEW and IAM, this legislation prohibits unrealistic inspection timelines and ensures skilled professionals conduct critical safety checks. Supporting these acts is vital to creating safer working environments and reliable rail systems.
